WHO WE ARE

The North Carolina Triangle Coalition (NCTC) is a collaboration of three smaller coalitions consisting of healthcare organizations and public and private partners from 21 counties in central North Carolina. Each of the Capital, Duke, and Mid Carolina Coalitions are organized to prepare for, respond to, and recover from an emergency, mass casualty, disaster, or catastrophic event, but work collaboratively as the NCTC to more effectively serve their healthcare partners and the State Medical Response System (SMRS).

As part of the Hospital Preparedness Program, the coalitions of North Carolina receive funding and guidance from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR), the NC Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR), through the NC Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS).

Grant funding for the NCTC requires a 10% in-kind match that is provided in large part by Duke Health, UNC Health Care, and WakeMed Health & Hospitals, which are the lead agencies for the three Coalitions. Other partners also contribute to this effort to the extent possible through support of the initiatives related to the operation and sustainability of the Coalition.
